Rangi Ruru Masterplan
Following the 2011 earthquakes, McIldowie Partners were successful in winning an international competition to undertake a comprehensive for the reconstruction of the School. With only 3 buildings structurally sound and identified for retention, the Master Plan focused not only on overall campus strategies, but also detailed programme and staging of works to ensure that the School could be fully operational during several years of construction.
Integration of landscape solutions to retain open space and linkages between buildings on a relatively tight inner urban campus was a major part of the Master Planning as well as responding to changes in pedagogy, the need for sustainability and advances in technology.
